Dominus Healing Visitation
In March of 1985, the Lord visited Bob Jones in adream in the form of an angel named Dominus. The angel was very jovial, and he told Bob that he was the Lord. Bob then asked the question, “You’re the Lord?” “Yes, but I am showing myself to you as your friend. Bob, I am the Lord, but I am your friend too. I am going to reveal the healing anointing as it relates to my friendship with you.” Then the Lord said to him in the dream, “I am going to again release healing power that began back in the 50s. And I also want you to know that I am going to speak to Mike Bickle and Bob Scott about this.” And after Bob relayed these dreams to them, he said,” Oh don’t be surprised if the Lord reveals himself using the name Don?” After Bob reported this to Mike and Bob Scott, they were excited to see what was going to happen. A short period of time went by, and they forgot about the prophecy. Then Bob Scott came to Mike and told him he just had an incredible dream that was from the Lord. In this dream, the Lord showed him that He was going to bring forth His power out of His armory to unleash His arsenal (i.e., the gifts of the Spirit). The only major character in this dream, explained Bob, was a close friend of his from St. Louis named ‘Don’. He was with Bob all through the dream, encouraging him and smiling. Mike and Bob Scott drove over to Bob Jones' home and informed him of what happened. “I told you so,” said Bob. “I told you that the Lord would appear to you in a dream and confirm what he showed me.” In the dream, the oddest part was he kept seeing a good friend of his from St. Louis in the dream named Don Flynn, and he was smiling at him the whole time.
They asked, “Well, how does Don fit into this dream?” “Do you think Don is going to move here?”
Bob, frustrated by their lack of discernment chided them and said very firmly “NO!” “Don’t you understand that the Lord is trying to speak to you about revival and healing in the context of friendship with Him?” Then a week later, Mike had a dream in which He saw his friend, Don Steadman, in the back of the Shawnee Mission South auditorium and Don was smiling at him. Mike looked around and saw on stage the musicians playing and worshiping God with Mark Hendrickson. Then suddenly everyone in the auditorium started running up to the front en mass. Mike said, “I’ve got to go” and as he was running up front, he lifted up one his hands cried out, “In the name of Jesus,” and suddenly 30 people on his right fell down and were healed by the power of the Holy Spirit. Then he turned to his left and cried out “In the name of Jesus,” and 20 people on his left fell down and were healed by the power of the Holy Spirit. Then he turned around and cried out again, “In the name of Jesus” and another 30 people fell down and were healed by the Holy Spirit. And he sees other members of his team praying and everyone in every row were touched by the power of the Holy Spirit. It was a holy and glorious pandemonium. Mike went back up to the back of the auditorium and saw his friend Don there still smiling. Mike was panting and said, “That was the Lord.” And Don looked back at him smiling and said, “That was the Lord.”Then Mike woke up.
That morning Mike met with Bob Scott and Mark Hendrickson before the service at Shawnee Mission South. Mike was excited about the dream and started to tell them about it and what revival was going to look like. Suddenly, Bob Jones walked up to see what was going on. Mike started to tell him about the dream and about Don Steadman. “You know maybe Don and I will be working someday together in the future?” Bob said, “Yep, that is true, but the Lord was wanting to talk to you about the message of friendship and healing.” Mark Hendrickson was looking down and said, “Oh my Gosh, Mike, look what you are standing on.” They were on a stage and the name of the position of the stagehand was written on tape on the floor right where Mike was standing, and his name was Don! Wow! Bob Jones just left kind of frustrated because it seemed to take Mike and Bob Scott a long time to figure out what God was saying to them.
In Latin, Dominus means the Lord that heals thee (note: Dominus just means Lord). But the Lord wanted to reveal Himself and speak the message of healing in the context of friendship. So, to confirm this message to Mike, the Lord gave Mike Bickle a dream in which the Lord took the form of his friend, Don Steadman. In the dream, the power of God was released to heal people. The Lord sent this confirmation to remind us that one day He would send a healing anointing to SKCF. The Lord also gave Bob Scott a similar dream. On an interesting side note, Mark Hendrickson was leading worship in Mike’s dream when the power of God was released [the date may have taken place in the Spring of 1984].
